| THEORY & FORMULAE |
Kinetic theory considers matter to be composed of particles or molecules in a state of continual motion. For gas, the molecules are in random motion with velocities ranging from zero to very large values. The root-mean-square of the gas molecules can be represented by the equation:
  vrms = √[3kBT/mo]
  mo = M/NA
where
     M = molecular of the gas
     T = absolute temperature of gas
     mo = mass of one particle of gas
     vrms = root mean square speed of gas
     NA = Avogadro's number = 6.022x1026 particles/kmol
     kB = Boltzmann's constant = 1.381x10-23 J/K
